Our Story

We're Britt and Sam, an Aussie and a Brit (not Britt) who somehow found common ground in sport… eventually.

When we first met, Britt couldn't tell you the difference between a try, a wicket, or whatever else Sam wouldn't stop talking about. Watching sport? No clue. Playing it? Absolutely not. Meanwhile, Sam was (and still is) a full-blown sports fanatic, a sports writer, walking stats encyclopedia, lover of every sport under the sun.

In our first summer together, Britt officially became a cricket widow. By the next year, she'd gone from 'Wait, how many innings are there?' to joining the local ladies' cricket team.

But like many women stepping into a traditionally male-dominated space, there were ups and downs - including a few encounters with behaviour that was, let's say… less than welcoming. (Ask us about the time we were low-key burned by good old-fashioned misogyny.)

And out of that, Not That Sporty was born.

A space for people who love sport, and people who always thought sport wasn't for them. A space for learning without judgement, cheering without gatekeeping, and wearing the label 'Not That Sporty' with pride even if Sam still refuses to wear anything that literally says it.

We're here for the curious, the casual, the competitive, and the ones who just want to be part of the fun.
